MARKETING MADNESS

I hate to be one of those  women but I can not help it. I really don't have the sports gene but can appreciate that most people do. Seeing that I am an alien, when I went to the Steelers v. Broncos on Monday night, I was highly engaged by all of the advertising. I was amazed at the amount of marketing occurring like EVERY SECOND. This play, down, goal, touchdown- all brought to you by- Coke, Comcast, Dave's Famous BBQ, Snickers, x, y, and z. There were so many that I could not keep up with all of them.  Logos encircled the entire stadium and flashed on the big screen throughout the game.
Do we even realize what is happening or are we way too desensitized? I do marketing, I love it, but wow, it was a bit much even for me. I definitely see the power in branding and getting in front of your audience at least 6 times in order to maybe make an impact, but how could it be done more tastefully? I am not dissing the Bronco's/NFL marketing teams, I just wonder how brands can be better represented inside stadiums.

Think about it...

How would you want to be marketed to?

How much is too much?

When you pay your good dollars to advertise are you just another logo in the soup?

So you are in front of 20,000, does it really matter if your brand is not ruly validated and making an impact?

What is your follow-up and how do you measure results?
