Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, a fabulously cutting-edge rock n' roll salon in Indianapolis, saw a great opportunity to stimulate the current climate and practice excellent marketing/pr. In February, Indiana's unemployment rate reached 9.4% leaving many hoosiers to find a new place of employment. KKBB saw a way to reach those folks and also do some great PR for themselves.
On April 26, from 11 am - 5 pm, the owners of KKBB, will give away haircuts to people who have lost their jobs and currently seek employment. How great is that? Not only are they helping their community because a gorgeous head of hair will always boost morale, they have seized an opportunity to create buzz for their salon. Who wouldn't want to patronize a business that has great services and stylists but also really cares about others well being.
So I suggest we all think a little harder from a place of abundance and come up with a great way to reach our target markets by truly finding a way to serve them and ourselves. After all, it feels really good to make someone's day.
