Don't Be Afraid
So everyone is freaking out about the fact that the economy is in the toilet. Large and small businesses alike are going under and cutting back. And rightfully so, right? Or not. It not that I don’t believe we are in an economic crisis, but I still see so many folks doing just fine, not cutting back and living large.
As you know, the first thing in the business budget to be cut is marketing. Now, this might seem perfectly logical, but to me, this is suicide for a business. How are you going to remain visible, competitive and profitable if you do not communicate with your target audience and current customer base? You aren't.
Do not be afraid to spend money on marketing and PR during our much buzzed about economic hard times. Be brave and make a decision to stay in the game. Yes, you might see a decline in sales but it is important to continue to stay consistent with your customers and those prospects you so dearly covet.
When we recover, which we always do, those folks you were still marketing to will remember you and not the other guy who stopped marketing to them. Marketing and public relations is a vital part of your business, do not cut it out, if you have to, just cut back.
My best,
Andrea Ridder
